Five generations, one trade.

Manhole Builders is the result of five generations of dedication and hard work in the manhole construction industry. This is the family, in order.

First generation

Simun Dzajkich

Started building manholes in the 1950s with his son-in-law Ed Jaureguy. Everything since runs back to the two of them and a trade learned by hand.

Second generation

Ed Jaureguy

The son-in-law in that first photograph. He learned the trade beside Simun and carried the company into its second generation, back when manholes were laid up by hand, brick by brick. In the early 1960s photograph he is down in the work with three of his daughters, Diane, Susan, and Cathy, watching from the bank.

Third generation

Catherine Wilson, Edward Jaureguy Jr. & Diane Hundley

All three are Ed's children and all three grew up on the work: Catherine is the girl in the center of her father's photograph above, Edward was photographed on jobs at three years old, and Diane, the eldest and Eric's mother, stood for a photograph at a brick manhole in 1960. Catherine went on to serve as the company's C.F.O. and Edward Jr. as its President before handing it to the next generation.

Fourth generation

Eric Hundley

President today. First photographed at three years old wearing his grandfather's hard hat and boots, and again as a kid at the side of his dad's work truck in the early 1980s; now the name on the door and the person who answers for the work.

Fifth generation

Jayden, Ethan & Dalen Hundley

Jayden was photographed at two years old "supervising" a job and is estimating work today. Ethan and Dalen are in the work too: the fifth generation pricing the same structures the first one built.
