Sewer

Sewer manhole construction

The heart of the business. Bases and shafts from 36 to 72 inches inside diameter, built in the ground to the detail on the plan.

Poured once, in the ground

A sewer base is poured in place, around live flows and existing pipe. It cannot go back to the shop for a second try. Our crews pour them freehand, with tools and techniques built up over generations in this one trade.

Crews work directly with onsite foremen and inspectors, so what gets buried is what the plan called for: channels shaped to the flow, shafts plumb, grade correct.

One name on the whole structure

The shafting, cones, and grade rings that go on top of our bases come out of our own Corona yard, cast to ASTM C-478. The precast plants do not run construction crews and the underground contractors do not own a plant. We do both, so one company answers for the whole structure.
